Full Moon in Scorpio: What the Water Remembers
Honoring the Water element, sacred release, and the depths of your becoming
🌕 This Full Moon, I Am
On May 12th, the moon reaches fullness in Scorpio.
Scorpio is deeply underworld energy. She’s the gatekeeper of the unseen, the compost priestess, the one who knows that death is a passage, not an end. Scorpio rules the the moment between decay and regeneration, grief and rebirth. What dies here becomes soil. Scorpio knows that rot feeds roots. Nothing is wasted.
This full moon rises across from the Sun in Taurus, illuminating the tension between what’s stable and what’s changing, between the comfort of what we can hold and the mystery of what we can’t. Taurus builds. Scorpio unearths. Together they remind us: safety and surrender are not enemies, they’re partners.
And the sky is stirring more than that.
☉ The Sun is conjunct Uranus — the planet of liberation, insight, and disruption.
This brings a wild card energy: expect flashes of clarity, emotional upwellings, and the sudden urge to change something that once felt immovable. It’s not chaos for chaos’ sake, it’s the moment something clicks.
♂ Mars opposes Pluto — a battle of will and power across the Leo-Aquarius axis.
Expect intensity. This is pressure-cooker astrology. Power struggles may rise inside you, between you, or around you. The call is to witness, not control how you meet the heat. Scorpio reminds us: not all fire is destructive. Some burns to clear the way.
☿ Mercury in Aries wants to speak raw, fast, and sharp but Scorpio moves in shadow.
This full moon invites you to pause before naming. To let the truth form fully in your belly before you give it shape.
🌕 Living by the Moon
a rhythm check-in for your breath, body, and altar
I have a tattoo that reads: I am.
It’s rooted in one of the most sacred and mysterious names of the Divine — Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh — the phrase Moses receives at the burning bush when he asks, “Who shall I say sent me?”
In Hebrew, this phrase can be translated as:
I am who I am.
I was who I was.
I will be who I will be.
There is no decisive tense. All of them are true.
It’s not a static name. It’s a name of becoming. A way of saying:
I’m not done unfolding. I am not who I was. I am still whole.
Under this Scorpio Full Moon, a lunation that stirs what’s hidden, brings emotion to the surface, and asks for surrender, I’m coming back to this learning, this practice.
Because this moon, like the lesson, holds every version of I:
who I’ve been (the past self we're grieving or shedding)
who I am now (the raw truth, the present-moment version)
who I am becoming (the identity still forming, still unknown)
It does so through descent into the shadow, the underworld, murky, fertile, necessary. The kind of depth and fertile soil that rebirths you.
Scorpio reminds us: endings are sacred.
Following the Taurus New Moon, we are reminded: love the liminal through process.
Together, they say:
Don’t rush toward the next version of yourself.
Meet this one with honesty, with reverence, with grace.
As above, so within. This Scorpio Full Moon echoes that name of Becoming. Stirring endings, unearthings, and quiet transformations beneath the surface.
🜄 Elemental Focus: Water
This is a water moon that is not like the others. It pulls from the underground springs. The places where what’s been buried begins to break down... and become. Let water be your guide.
Suggestions for your altar + body:
Place a bowl of water on your altar and whisper into it what you're ready to release
Bathe or shower slowly, imagining the water drawing out what’s no longer needed
Anoint your lower belly, sacrum, or inner thighs with oil (jojoba, rose, or mugwort)
Hold a stone like obsidian, black tourmaline, or moonstone in your hand while journaling or resting
This is a moon of feeling deeply, witnessing.
Let your ritual be revelatory.
💬 Affirmation
I honor what is ready to die.
I trust what is still becoming.
I don’t rush the roots. I let the soil do its work.
